Adding or editing a combo group

  1. Select Network > Spans > Combo Groups.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To define a new combo group, click Add.
    • To create a new combo group by duplicating and editing an existing combo group, click Copy .
    • To edit an existing combo group, click Edit .

      Tip

      To help you identify a combo group that you want to copy or edit, you can display a summary of the attributes of a combo group by clicking View .

      The Add/Edit/Copy Combo Group page is displayed.

  3. On the Details tab, define the following group attributes:

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a unique name to identify the combo group.

    Realm

    Select the realm to which this combo groups belongs.

    Operator and Group

    Create a logical expression defining how groups are to be combined to yield devices that belong to the resulting combo group.

    Select the + sign to add a row below the selected line. Select the - sign to delete a row.

    In the example in the figure above, the combo group consists of all firewalls matching the selected models within the realm Default.

    Combined Groups

    As the operators and groups are assigned, this field displays the resulting expressions. You cannot edit this field.

  4. Click Save.

Note

You cannot change the realm of an existing combo group because the groups that comprise it might not make sense in a different realm. Instead, use the Copy option to create a new combo group in a different realm if you want to re-use dynamic field values.
