Viewing a System Diagnostics report

The System Diagnostics report enables an administrator to retrieve diagnostics like memory usage, operating system information, configuration file settings, system parameters, component counts, and thread stack traces. BMC can request this report when servicing a technical support call. Perform the following steps to generate a System Diagnostics report:

  1. Open the System Diagnostics Report wizard page by navigating to Reports > Support Reports > System Diagnostics.
  2. Select the types of diagnostics to include in the report.

  3. Click Next.

    You may notice red or yellow flags next to various utilization values. A yellow flag appears at 85% utilization; a red flag appears at 95% utilization. The presence of a flag indicates your system is approaching a limit that could impact the performance or proper functioning of the system. High memory or CPU utilization might be transitory, so generate the report again at intervals to monitor if the usage goes back down. High disk utilization is not usually transitory. Monitor this parameter as well and perform the disk cleanup actions at the operating system level.

  4. (Optional): Perform one of the following tasks by using the menu options that are available on the System Diagnostics Report page:

    Menu option
    BackReturn to the wizard to change report parameters.
    Print ViewPrint a copy of the report.

    Export the report to one of the following formats:

    • HTML
    • PDF
    • RTF
    EmailEmail the report to one or more recipients in one of the export formats.
