Migrating and upgrading from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system

Use this procedure to learn how to migrate and upgrade your 32-bit BMC Network Automation system to a 64-bit BMC Network Automation system.

Note

For systems running local authentication, if you first upgrade to BMC Network Automation version 8.3.x and then upgrade to version 8.8, the system forces all the users to change their passwords the first time they log on to the system. This is necessary to ensure that the encryption of user passwords is compliant with the FIPS-140 standards.
