Performance Summary Report

The Performance Summary Report shows a summary of the processing performed on the selected Data Optimizer SMF records.

This report is generated only if you specify LIST=SUM or LIST=ALL in the SYSIN control card format or in the EXEC PARM= statement.

The following types of information can be included in this report:

SMF reporting period
Data Optimizer VSAM open/close date/time statistics
Data Optimizer non-VSAM open/close date/time statistics
Specified parameters from EXEC PARM= or SYSIN
Subsystems reported (more than one subsystem can exist as a part of SMF input data)
ddname and dsname information
Daylight Saving Time table used (if applicable)
Data Optimizer VSAM selected statistics
Data Optimizer non-VSAM selected statistics
Overall SMF record statistics

Note

Only sections that contain information are displayed in the report. For example, if you did not specify a Daylight Saving Time table, that section will not be in the report.

The following figure shows an example of the Performance Summary Report. The tables below the example provide descriptions of the data fields included in each section of the report.

FROM DATE	Shows the earliest SMF Data Optimizer record found in SMFFILE¹
FROM TIME	shows the earliest SMF Data Optimizer record found in SMFFILE²
TO DATE	shows the latest SMF Data Optimizer record found in SMFFILE¹
TO TIME	shows the latest SMF Data Optimizer record found in SMFFILE²
The date is adjusted if the SMF Data Optimizer record was recorded by MainView Batch Optimizer 2.3.01 or the DAPUDSTT table entry exists for the specified year. This date is from SMFDODTE in the SMF Record Header. The date shown in <> is what the user specified in the SYSIN DD statement or in EXEC PARM=. The time is adjusted if the SMF Data Optimizer record was recorded by MainView Batch Optimizer 2.3.01 or the DAPUDSTT table entry exists for the specified year. This time is from SMFDOTME in the SMF Record Header. The time shown in <> is what the user specified in the SYSIN DD statement or in EXEC PARM=.

Includes a line for each ddname included in the DAPUSMF1 JCL that specifies the following information:

ddname is the data definition name.
dsname is the data set name.
member is the member name (if it is a PDS member).
RECFM shows the record format.
LRECL shows the logical record length.
BLKSIZE shows the block size.
status is what is specified by DISP=(STATUS,,).
normalDisp is what is specified by DISP=(,Normal Disposition,).
conditionalDisp is what is specified by DISP=(,,Conditional Disposition).

Daylight Saving Time Table

name description

Includes information about the Daylight Saving Time table that was specified in the DSTT

This field can include the following information:

name is the name of the specified Daylight Saving Time table.
description is the provided description for the specified Daylight Saving Time table.

This field applies only to SMF records written by MainView Batch Optimizer 2.3.01 or earlier.
