Linking incidents to a broadcast

On the Remedyforce Console tab, you can link one or more incidents to a selected broadcast by using the Link to Broadcast button.

Best practice

We recommend that you link a maximum of 25 incidents to a broadcast at a time.

When you link an incident to a broadcast, the following changes occur:

  • Values of the following fields in an incident record are updated according to the broadcast. For example, the owner of a broadcast becomes the owner of the incident. 
    • Queue 
    • Category 
    • Impact 
    • Urgency
    • Owner
  • The following phrase is added to the Description field of an incident: 
    [Broadcast Appended:]
  • Closed incidents are reopened.
  • After an incident record is linked to a broadcast, if you link it with another broadcast, the incident is linked to the new broadcast.

Perform the following steps to link incidents to a broadcast:

  1. Go to Remedyforce Console
  2. From the View dropdown list, select Incidents.
  3. From the list of incidents, select the incidents that you want to link to a broadcast.
  4. Click Link to Broadcast.
  5. From the list of broadcasts, select the required broadcast.
  6. Click Link.
  7. In the confirmation box, click OK.
