Issue with Create Task Relationships workflow

With BMC Remedy ITSM version 7.6.04, the BMC Continuous Compliance for Server Automation and BMC Continuous Compliance for Network Automation solutions do not properly use the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Operations Actions Task Management module Create Task Relationships workflow. The TMS_TaskInterface web service always returns the same task interface ID regardless of the Create Task Relationships request. Also, if you modify the TMS_TaskInterface web service by using BMC Remedy Developer Studio version 7.6.04 and save the modified web service, the web service does not retain the urn: prefix in targetNamespace.

To review the value of the targetNamespace field

  1. Log on to BMC Remedy Developer Studio.
  2. Select File > Switch Mode and select Base Development.
  3. In the AR System Navigator, expand All Objects and list all the web services by double-clicking Web Services.
  4. Right-click the TMS_TaskInterface web service.
  5. Expand WSDL Ports > Port > WSDL Operations > Set Operation UpdateTaskAndRelationships.
  6. In the Output Mapping section, hover your mouse on the Root element.
  7. Review the value of the targetNamespace field to ensure that it displays a namespace with the urn: prefix. For example: targetNamespace: urn:TMS_TaskInterface.

If the targetNamespace field does not display the urn: prefix, perform the following workaround.

Workaround:

  1. Upgrade BMC Remedy ITSM to version 7.6.04 SP2.
  2. Log on to BMC Remedy Developer Studio.
  3. Select File > Switch Mode and select Base Development.
  4. In the AR System Navigator, expand All Objects and list all the web services by double-clicking Web Services.
  5. Right-click the TMS_TaskInterface web service.
  6. Expand WSDL Ports > Port > WSDL Operations > Set Operation UpdateTaskAndRelationships.
  7. Make a change to the operation output mapping, and then save the web service.
  8. Close and reopen the web service.
  9. Go to the Output Mapping section and hover your mouse on the Root element.
  10. Review the value of the targetNamespace field, which now displays a namespace with the urn: prefix. For example: targetNamespace: urn:TMS_TaskInterface.

After completing the workaround, use the following steps to clear the mid tier cache:

  1. Log on to BMC Remedy Mid Tier Configuration Tool. Example URL: http://_midTierServer_:_port_/arsys/shared/config/config.js
  2. In the left pane, click Cache Settings.
  3. Click Flush Cache.
The Successfully modified Cache Settings message appears.
  4. Click Logout.
