Group servers by business service
A business manager might find it useful to look at all the servers associated with a particular business service. This scenario describes how a business manager can create a smart group that includes all the servers associated with a particular business service. As an example, this page uses Human Resources as a business service.
Before you begin
Make sure you have populated the BUSINESS_SERVICES property for all your servers, as described in Populating the BUSINESS_SERVICES property.
To create a server smart group based on the BUSINESS_SERVICES property
1. Within the BMC Server Automation Console, right-click the Servers folder and select New > Server Smart Group.
2. For Name, specify "Human Resources." For Description, specify "Servers associated with the Human Resources business service."

4. In the next line, specify that BUSINESS_SERVICES must be set to Human Resources:
5.Complete the remaining panels (Permissions and ACL settings) as described in Defining permissions for a system object in the .
6. Expand the newly created Human Resources smart group to browse all servers associated with the Human Resources business service.
