Troubleshooting the BMC TrueSight Operations Management adapter

Message: Event with WARNING severity received by the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Monitor Adapter for BMC ProactiveNet Performanance Management but slot severity in event is not received.

Explanation: WARNING is the default severity value in the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management application.

User response: To resolve this issue, you must add a configuration parameter to the gateway.imcomm file as follows:

  1. Access the computer on which BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is installed and navigate to the installHome\pw\server\etc directory.
  2. Open the gateway.imcomm file and then add cond=always.
  3. Restart the BMC ProactiveNet Performanance Management service.

Message: Unable to monitor events from the admin or any other cell.

User response: Perform the following steps:

  1. (optional) Remove the following line from the mcell.conf file located in $ MCELL_HOME \pw\server\etc\<cellName>:
    <serverDirectoryName>=C:\Program Files\ProactiveNet\pw\pronto\data\admin\admin.dir
  2. Recompile the cell.
  3. Restart the cell.
