Post-installation tasks for the PowerShell adapter

You can enable the PowerShell adapter on BMC Atrium Orchestrator peers running on a Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system. Also, the permission levels for the BMC Atrium Orchestrator service on the Windows peer must be configured to allow the adapter to communicate properly.

To set permissions for the PowerShell adapter

  1. Log on to the Windows peer on which the PowerShell application adapter is to be enabled.
  2. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  3. Right-click the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Repository, BMC Atrium Orchestrator Lightweight Activity Peer, BMC Atrium Orchestrator Configuration Distribution Peer, or BMC Atrium Orchestrator High Availability Configuration Distribution Peer service, and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
  4. Click the Log On tab.
  5. Select This account.
  6. Type the user name for this service.

    Note

    The specified user must have the ability to communicate externally and utilize a communication interface.

  7. Type the corresponding password in the Password and Confirm Password text boxes.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Restart the BMC Atrium OrchestratorBMC Atrium Orchestrator Lightweight Activity Peer, BMC Atrium Orchestrator Configuration Distribution Peer, or BMC Atrium Orchestrator High Availability Configuration Distribution Peer service.
