Configuration Management module

The Configuration Management module contains prebuilt actions typically performed in the management of configuration items, or configuration management database (CMDB) objects. You can automate many of these workflows so that they require little or no personal intervention, increasing the speed with which they finish. Process automation also reduces errors during configuration management operations such as creating, updating, or deleting configuration items. Configuration Management workflows include predefined configuration item mappings to the BMC Remedy IT Service Manager (ITSM), BMC Atrium CMDB, and HP ServiceCenter configuration management systems.

With the module and the corresponding application adapter, BMC Atrium Orchestrator offers comprehensive out-of-the-box automation of configuration item management operations. Also, the Configuration Management module offers significant flexibility, enabling you to modify workflows, adjust data mappings to external systems, create mappings to your own custom systems, or extend existing workflows to perform additional automated tasks.
